Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Abu Dhabi Ports announced on Wednesday the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Israeli Industry Association, with the aim of strengthening trade cooperation between the two countries.
The cooperation between KIZAD and Zonescorp, both affiliated with the industrial cities sector and the free zone in Abu Dhabi ports, and the Israeli side, will cover a number of areas, including trade, investment, technology, and improving research, development and innovation.
A statement published by Abu Dhabi Ports also stated that the cooperation “paves the way for the exchange of trade missions between the two sides,” as Abu Dhabi Ports will organize during the current month a virtual seminar with members of the Israeli Industry Association “to inform them of the opportunities available in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, especially within the industrial cities sector and the free zone.” .
The Israeli Industrial Industry Association covers the public and private sectors, agricultural cooperative institutions and government industries in the country, as well as more than 2,000 industrial establishments and establishments that account for about 95% of the industrial production in Israel, according to the statement.
This is the first cooperation to be signed between Abu Dhabi Ports and an Israeli commercial establishment since the UAE signed the peace treaty with Israel in the American capital, Washington, last September.
