The actress Mary Mara, seen in series like emergencies, Law y Ray Donovan, has passed away this Sunday at the age of 61. A report released Monday by the New York State Police confirmed that Mara’s body was discovered in the St. Lawrence River in Cape Vincent, New York. Although the investigation is ongoing, preliminary findings suggest the American drowned while she was swimming.

A family spokesman explained that the interpreter was spending a few days at her sister Martha’s summer house when the event occurred. Authorities transported Mara’s body to the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s office, where an autopsy will determine the official cause of death, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
In a statement, her manager, Craig Dorfman, has described the actress as “electric, funny and full of virtues” who was much loved, as well as a great performer.
