(CNN) — Melinda Dillon, who starred in films including “A Christmas Story” and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” has died at age 83, according to an obituary posted by a cremation service in Long Beach, California.
The funeral director at the location confirmed that the obituary was for the actress.
Dillon passed away on January 9, 2023, according to the obituary. No cause of death or other information about his death was immediately available.
