If the Federalist AllianceAdán Augusto López Hernández, Secretary of the Interior, said sarcastically, dialogue will continue to be established with the opposition governors that comprise it, as is done with all state leaders and the head of government of Mexico City.
“About the Federalist Alliance, if it has not disappeared, we will also have communication, since it is the right of governors to group together, to gather around the figure that they consider to be the most viable to defend their interests or those of their states or to analyze the good progress, and they have all our respect and we will always maintain communication with them, ” he said during the press conference at the National Palace, which he led this morning on behalf of the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who has been in asylum since last Monday night for suffering from the respiratory disease Covid-19.
To a specific question on the subject, the head of internal politics in Mexico assured that his relationship with all the governors, those who make up the National Governors Conference (Conago) and the Federalist Alliance, is respectful and without interruptions.
“It is a relationship of respect, of permanent communication, we maintain dialogue with all the governors of the country and the Head of Government … Every day we maintain communication with the governors to attend to various issues, we must not only coordinate but evaluate the The possibility of the federal government supporting projects of a state nature and that the governors consider a priority for their states … We maintain permanent dialogue with all of them because we are interested in the good progress of the country. ”
On the possibility of modifying the fiscal pact that establishes the distribution of the Federation’s resources to the federative entities, as proposed by some opposition leaders to the federal government, said that the issue is under analysis.
“We understand the position of the governors in permanently evaluating the possibility of modifying the fiscal pact to benefit their entities, each one of them surely does it thinking about how to obtain the greatest amount of resources possible for their entities, and therefore the areas of the Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit and the secretary also maintain permanent communication with the governors. ”
Finally, he assured that it is an issue “that is continually reviewed”, but clarified that the governors receive “in due time and form” from the federal government “the agreed shares.”
