A South Australian man who tested positive to the South African strain of Covid-19 is in hospital in critical condition.
The man, aged in his 40s, had been taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital on Saturday, before he was moved to the intensive care unit on Sunday.
Acting Chief Public Health Officer Michael Cusack said the man had contracted the highly contagious South African strain of the virus.
He is one of 12 people in the state who has contracted the virus from overseas.
