Today, Sunday, the Afghan Ministry of Defense announced that 23 Taliban militants were killed in an operation carried out by the national security forces in two different provinces of the country.

The ministry stated, in a statement posted on its Twitter page, that the operation that took place in Dehrawood in Uruzkan State in central Afghanistan, yesterday, Saturday, resulted in the killing of 15 members of the movement, the destruction of two Taliban strongholds, and the seizure of a quantity of weapons and equipment.
15th #Taliban were killed during ANDSF operation in Dehrawood district of #Urzgan province yesterday. Additionally, 2 strongholds and some amount of their weapons and ammunition were destroyed.

The ministry also stated that 8 Taliban fighters were killed and another wounded as a result of an air strike in the Bisht Road area in the southwestern state of Farah, from Saturday night to Sunday.
