The Afghan state police of Ghazni announced the assassination of the head of the journalists’ union in the state, Rahmatullah Nikzad, in an attack by unknown gunmen.
The police said in a statement that the journalist Nikzad was assassinated in front of his house, noting that he was the fifth journalist targeted by unknown gunmen during the past two months.
The Afghan TV channel said that the journalist who was assassinated was working for the American Associated Press and the Qatari Al-Jazeera network.
The channel pointed out that the “Taliban” movement, in an official statement, denied its connection with the attack that targeted the journalist, God’s mercy, Nikzad.
