Afores reported 142,715 million pesos of capital gains between January and April: Consar

The 10 retirement fund managers (outside) reported capital gains of 142,715 million pesos between January and April 2023, as reported by the National Retirement Savings System Commission (consar).

Despite the capital gains observed in the referred periods, the transfers of Afore accounts still cannot be made effective.

During April, zero account changes were made between the 10 Afores, according to information from the National Commission of the Retirement Savings System.

That being said, in April there were two months in which the outside They did not specify any transfer of accounts as a result of the changes to the regulations made in December of last year.

The consar reported that between January and April there are 22,982 accounts that are seeking to change their fund manager, but have not made the change.

It should be noted that the Afores, through the pension advisors, can carry out the work of attracting accounts, receive documentation and start the change process, but the process will be stopped in Processcompany that operates the database of the outside and through which the transfer processes are channeled.

Once the suspension period ends, Process will release the processes and the changes will take effect. However, if the adverse conditions continue, the transfers will continue to be suspended.

Amounts for unemployment withdrawals rise, but fewer workers request it

The consar It also reported that the amount of partial unemployment withdrawals that workers make from their retirement fund administrator registered 1,890 million pesos in April, which represented an annual increase of 1.4% in real terms.

What was observed in the fourth month of the year contrasted with the annual contraction of 7.7% registered in the same month of 2022.

Meanwhile, between January and April, workers withdrew 7,582 million pesos from their retirement savings accounts, this represented an annual increase of 2.7% in real terms.

The data also reveals that in April 120,473 people withdrew money from their retirement savings account, which represented an annual contraction of 19.7 percent.

While from January to April they added 513,698 people, which meant an annual decrease of 14.6 percent.
