The Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal of the city of Bizerte, Tunisia, upheld the death sentence against 5 people who committed the crime of killing a Tunisian child, Rabie.
Yesterday, Thursday, the official spokesman for the court, Kamal Bejaoui, confirmed in a statement to the private EFM radio, that the court had approved the death sentence by hanging against the victim’s aunt, the husband of one of the aunts and his son, in addition to a fortune-teller.
The events of this crime that shook public opinion in Tunisia go back to December of 2010, when the child Rabei disappeared in mysterious circumstances, before his body was found in the Al-Jawawdeh area, killed and his limbs cut inside a bag.
After a while, a prisoner revealed to the victim’s father that his sister, the child’s aunt, and her husband had carried out the crime. As a result, investigations began in various stages, before the adoption of the initial ruling to execute the five persons involved.
