Former Texas A&M and Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher has been hired by ESPN as a college football analyst. The network announced Tuesday that Fisher will join the ACC Network, appearing weekly on its signature pregame show, ACC Huddle.
Fisher, 59, last coached at Texas A&M from 2018 until his dismissal in November 2023. His tenure in College Station followed a highly successful run at Florida State, where he led the Seminoles to the 2013 BCS National Championship. His departure from Florida State for a landmark contract with Texas A&M was a major headline at the time, though his teams ultimately did not achieve the same level of success.
In a statement, Fisher expressed his enthusiasm for the new role. “I’m looking forward to joining ACC Network and the Huddle team this season,” he said. “I’ve always had tremendous respect for this conference, and I’m looking forward to breaking down the action each week with such a talented group.”
Fisher’s move into broadcasting follows a well-established path for prominent coaches between sideline jobs, offering a platform to remain connected to the sport.
According to ESPN, ACC Huddle will travel to the site of the ACC’s marquee game each Saturday, airing from 10 a.m. to noon ET. The show’s first broadcast of the season will be from Clemson for the team’s matchup against LSU on August 30.
