While the defending champion's players prepared to celebrate the victory away from home, Bekom Zozoa succeeded in scoring the equalizing goal with a powerful shot from close range, which goalkeeper and captain Mohamed El-Shenawy failed to clear in stoppage time.
Young Africans had the first chance in the match when Clement Francis Mzizi shot hard, but El-Shenawy deflected it into a corner kick in the 11th minute.
Hussein Al-Shahat almost scored for Al-Ahly, but he shot wide of the goal 18 minutes after the start.
Fouad missed Al-Ahly’s most dangerous opportunity after he missed alone in the 74th minute.
Al-Ahly raised its score to 4 points at the top of Group Four, one point ahead of Algeria’s CS Belouizdad, which lost to Ghana’s Medeama. Young Africans are at the bottom of the standings with one point.
