The General Secretariat of the Iraqi Council of Ministers announced, on Thursday, that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi directed the implementation of a number of decisions to prevent the Corona virus.
In a statement, the secretariat stated that Al-Kazemi “authorized the supervisory authorities in the Ministry of Health to collect the amounts of fines for violators of the preventive measures and the decisions of the Supreme Committee for National Health and Safety, in the facilities that fall under the supervision of the supervisory authorities in the ministry.”
She added, “Al-Kazemi decided to completely prevent movement between governorates, with the exclusive exception of humanitarian cases and state employees for professional purposes related to their ministries and departments.”
And she continued, “It was also decided to focus on physical distancing and to prevent mixing between people, and to take measures to prevent human gatherings of all forms, and to prevent religious gatherings for the coming days.”
Al-Kazemi called for “the Ministry of Communications to enhance the efficiency and power of the Internet in the country, in order to run the educational process,” stressing, “Changing ministries and agencies not associated with all the ministries, as well as non-governmental departments and institutions, the management method to reduce overcrowding and overcrowding of auditors, by activating electronic governance similar to the countries of the world.”
The new measures included governmental and private teaching institutes according to the decisions of the Supreme Committee for Health and National Safety (7 of 2021) regarding electronically teaching schools, government and private colleges and institutes, until the 8th of next March, and they can be extended according to the epidemiological situation.
The Iraqi Prime Minister stressed the need for “not to host all media channels misleading the facts related to the Corona pandemic, the procedures for preventing and treating the disease and holding the violating channels accountable.”
