Al-Nasr Saudi club defeated its Iranian counterpart Traktor with a clean goal in the match that was held between them today, Tuesday evening, in the round of sixteen of the Asian Champions League at Khalifa International Stadium in Qatar.
The match’s only goal was scored by Vincent Abu Bakr in the 11th minute of the match.
Traktor Club had asked earlier to postpone its match against Al-Nassr due to the outbreak of the Corona virus among the team, or to withdraw without penalties, but the Asian Confederation refused that.
The Iranian team decided its position that it would not withdraw from the match, and traveled to Doha to face Al-Nassr with only 16 players.
Al-Nasr Saudi Arabia qualified for the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League to join its local rival, Al-Hilal, after a 1-0 victory over Iran’s Traktor Sazi in Doha on Tuesday.
Abu Bakr received an elegant pass from the Brazilian Anderson Talisca to shoot over the goalkeeper in a fruitful cooperation for the newcomers in the absence of Moroccan top scorer Abdel Razak Hamdallah, who was suspended.
Al Hilal, the 2019 champion, booked the first qualifying card for the quarter-finals, with a 2-0 victory over Istiklal Iran, on Monday.
