Ecatepec, State of Mexico, November 17, 2022. With the objective of strengthening the collaboration between academia and industry, while encouraging the insertion of young people in the productive sectors and in the labor market, Governor Alfredo Del Mazo Maza inaugurated the Academy-Industry Cooperation Center of the Ecatepec Higher Education Technological Institute (TESE), which will strengthen the educational programs of 11 undergraduate and seven postgraduate degrees, attended by nearly 8,000 students.
This Center, explained the Mexican president, is made up of the Additive Manufacturing, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Internet of Things and Software Engineering laboratories, which will allow the exchange of technology and will make it easier for young people to offer the industry the projects they need. develop, while companies can request prototypes or projects that respond to specific needs.
“Today we have nine academy-business linkage centers throughout the State of Mexico, this is the ninth that we are delivering and the idea is that we can continue to have a total of 16 throughout the administration.
“Because they are important? They are important because they allow us, one, to continue taking advantage of the vocations that we have in each region of the State of Mexico, second, because it allows young people to get closer to the needs that exist in the industry and that, by developing joint projects, have the opportunity to get closer, find a job and become much more linked with the companies that we have installed in the State of Mexico”, emphasized Alfredo Del Mazo.
In this event, which brought together students from the Tecnológicos de Estudios Superiores de Ecatepec, Coacalco and Cuautitlán Izcalli, as well as the Technological Universities of Tecámac, the “Fidel Velázquez” and the State University of Valle de Ecatepec, Del Mazo Maza awarded the Edoméx Science Scholarship to students from various public institutions of higher education, who have outstanding averages and are studying the first semesters of careers such as Computer Engineering, Chiropractic, Renewable Energies and Nursing, among others.
Regarding this school support, Governor Del Mazo specified that this scholarship modality was created a year ago by the Mexican Council of Science and Technology (Comecyt) to promote the talent of university students from public institutions, by providing them with financial support that allows them to continue their studies.
Before beneficiaries of that scholarship, Alfredo Del Mazo ratified his commitment to promoting education, and pointed out that his administration is committed to the development of science and innovation to train talented, competitive and prepared young people, who respond to the current needs of the industry.
“We are strengthening support for young people who dedicate themselves to science, who dedicate themselves to research. In the State of Mexico we are convinced that we must bet, not only on education, but on science and research, and that is why we have promoted this program called Edoméx Science Scholarships.
“And something that gives me great pleasure, that I want to share, is that more than half of the scholarships, 55 percent of the scholarships, of this Edoméx Science Scholarships program, are for women, so that women can continue studying and so that they can continue developing research and science in our state,” he said.
In this sense, he announced that the number of Edoméx Science Scholarships will be doubled in the next year, since the intention is to support more students interested in these areas of knowledge, and prevent them from abandoning their degree due to lack of resources.
During the opening of this Center, which he met in a tour he did with the Secretaries of Education and Finance, Gerardo Monroy and Rodrigo Jarque, respectively, as well as with authorities from the educational sector, staff and students of this Technological, Del Mazo Maza stressed that thanks to the trained labor force that exists in the state, added to other advantages, global companies such as Ford or Mercado Libre have grown in the state, which, he assured, opens more job opportunities for the youth and families of Mexico.
In relation to this, he said that in the State of Mexico the university network has become a strategic ally of highly technical productive sectors such as agro-industrial, automotive, pharmaceutical, chemical or plastic, adding that state universities They have updated their study programs to link the vocation of each region with the educational offer that the schools are carrying out.
“State universities have updated their study plans and programs, many are also being certified and others are implementing strategic programs to link, precisely, the vocation that we have in each of the regions of the State of Mexico, with the educational offer , which are being carried out by higher education institutions.
“Today we have a network of 15 Higher Education Technologists, who offer undergraduate and postgraduate degrees with theoretical-practical training to link students with the different productive vocations, as I said, of the state,” he pointed out.
Gerardo Monroy Serrano, Secretary of State Education, indicated that the new Cooperation Center will reinforce the educational programs of 11 undergraduate and seven postgraduate degrees, which are attended by about 8,000 students, attended by 350 teachers, in addition to supporting the development of economic units in Ecatepec , Tecámac, Acolman, Nextlalpan, among other municipalities.
