The investigations of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Sidi M’hamed Court into corruption cases in which former ministers Hoda Pharaon and Jamila Tamazert were involved revealed new details.
Informed sources indicated that the former Minister of Industry, Jamila Tamazeret, was questioned twice by the investigating judge, as the first time was focused on the first case in her capacity as General Director of the Riyadh Quresu Complex in order to complete the modern bakery project, where the activity was changed to a project related to grains and its derivatives.
The value of the project, according to the available information, reached huge sums of money in hard currency.
Investigations revealed that Tamazert was involved in the case of “Omar bin Omar”, because the latter is related to a relationship with the founder of the company, as well as “because she owns shares in the company in the name of her husband.”
As for the former Minister of Post, Communications and Media Technologies, Hoda Pharaon, the investigation relates to “deals made with the Huawei Corporation and the Chinese (ZTE) Corporation, and it is related to modernizing the national strategy for a very high flow network of the Internet.”
The total value of the project ranges by 73 million US dollars, while investigations have proven that “only 19% of the project has been completed with the first customer related to Huawei, and 11% with the Chinese company.”
