The Algerian Research Institute of Pasteur announced the registration of 13 cases of the mutated strain of Corona, which was first discovered in Nigeria, and 7 new infections with the strain that was discovered in Britain.
The institute added that the thirteen cases were recorded in Algiers and other states in the south and east of the country.
As for the seven cases, they were detected in the capital and the neighboring wilaya of Blida, bringing the total number of British infections in Algeria to 15.
And Jamal Forar, spokesman for the National Committee for Follow-up of the Coronavirus in Algeria, had announced earlier today that 170 cases of Coronavirus and two deaths had been recorded in one day.
Vorar said in his daily press conference, “The total number of injuries increased to 114,851 cases, while the total deaths rose to 3,028 deaths.”
He added that the total cases recovered amounted to 79,556 cases, after 128 cases recovered within one day, explaining that most of the deaths were recorded among the elderly.
