(CNN Spanish) — The singer Rihanna is, without a doubt, one of the superstars of each edition of the Met Gala. With her outfits, she always manages to surprise and is one of the most anticipated personalities on the event’s red carpet.
In this year’s edition, there was even more expectation for the singer from Barbados, since in 2022 she missed the Met Gala and her return generated great expectations in the audience.
Finally, the long-awaited return happened. Rihanna arrived at the Met Gala 2023 as she usually does: dressed spectacularly and appearing on the carpet with an elegant delay (other times she has been one of the last to arrive, but now she was the last to appear at the gala).
The singer wore a white Valentino dress with an overcoat that pays tribute to the iconic Chanel flower. Of course, her pregnancy was the protagonist of the spectacular look. Among the accessories were pearl necklaces and earrings, white fingerless gloves, and white sunglasses adorned with gigantic eyelashes.

The singer Rihanna and A$AP Rocky also appeared at the last moment of the Met Gala 2021 and it was also considered a return, since in 2020 the gala was postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The two closed out the red carpet with a couple of daring looks: Rihanna wore a voluminous Balenciaga couture gown, complete with a beanie and diamond brow accessory; A$AP Rocky, meanwhile, wore a colorful quilted creation from ERL.
That year’s theme was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.”

In this edition of the gala, the singer was one of the co-hosts of the night along with Amal Clooney, Donatella Versace, Stephen and Christine Schwarzman, and Anna Wintour (who is editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine and organizer of the event).

The 2017 Met Gala was themed “Rei Kawakubo: Art of the In-Between.”
According to Vogue, Rihanna wore an architecturally tailored floral dress by Comme des Garçons to honor Rei Kawakubo.

That year, the singer wore a couture gown by Chinese designer Guo Pei to celebrate the 2015 theme “China: Through the Looking Glass.”
It is one of the most iconic looks that have walked the red carpet of any edition of the Met Gala.
The fur-trimmed yellow cloak was so large that it took three people to help carry it.
That piece was painstakingly embroidered with traditional Chinese motifs and required more than 50,000 hours to create by hand.
