Already fired! Recruiters share CV fails that will make you think twice before submitting a job application
There’s no question about it – writing a CV can be an anxiety-inducing experience for job-seekers.
As well as racking your brain over your education and employment experience, you also have to think of ways to make yourself stand out from the crowd.Â
But while most people stick to a punchy opening line and some bullet points listing their key attributes, these quirky job-seekers decided to opt for a wildly different approach.Â
Earlier this week, Bored Panda collated some of the cringiest CVs shared by recruiters from across the US and UK.
In an attempt to catch a recruiter’s attention, one desperate man – who failed to put his surname on his resume – thought it appropriate to boast about his ‘cat-like reflexes’ and having the ‘facial hair of a 13-year-old’.

Meanwhile, another American job-seeker wanted to highlight their ‘attention to detail’ among their key skills – but accidentally made an ill-time typo that proved otherwise.Â
Similarly, a third made the mistake of boasting about their ‘proafreading’ skills.Â
Here FEMAIL reveals the most awkward CV fails that will make you want to think twice before you ever apply for a job again.Â
Awkward! This applicant in Georgia probably should have double checked their CV before boasting about how they pay ‘attention to detail’Â
Look again! This job-seeker would have been left red-faced after saying they were good at ‘proadofreading’
This job-seeker, thought to be from the US, didn’t think to put references – simply telling employers to look them up on Google
This American woman – known only as Megan – refused to work with mayonnaise as it ‘grosses her out’
Fake it til you make it! This confident job-seeker wrote under their skills on their CV: ‘I can make it happen.’
Going back in time! This young jobseeker, from the US, thought to list their Grade 6 Spelling Bee under their awards
Missing the (bullet) point! This job-seeker missed a trick by not properly filling out their summary or achievements before submitting their CV
Aiming high! This young job-seeker made some rather tenuous points in the ‘achievements’ section of their CV
Might want to double check that! This person boasted about ‘paying attention to detail – while also listing ‘quick learner’ twice
