Alsea will invest 4,500 million pesos in Mexico to open 200 new Starbucks coffee shops

Alsea announced this Monday that it will invest 4,500 million pesos in Mexico to open 200 new coffee shops Starbucks.

This implies the creation of 3,000 new jobs in the country, going from 10,000 to 13,000. All this is part of the company’s plan between now and 2026, announced Armando toastedCEO of Alsea, accompanied by Francisco Tosonew director of Starbucks in Mexico.

Starbucks has 34,000 stores worldwide, said Michael Cornway, vice president of Starbucks.

We started in Mexico 20 years ago, now we have 700 stores, there will be investments in stores and in technology. More than 50% of Alsea’s income comes from Starbucks,” Cornway recalled.

The design of the Starbucks coffee shops is done in Seattle, each one takes between five and six weeks.

The company also announced that it will open in 2023 in Paraguay. After two years of stagnation in Argentina, they opened a point in Buenos Aires.

The company said that they will not touch the price in the coming months in a context of high inflation worldwide.

In Mexico, they will open 70 stores per year. The most ambitious plans of the company are in France and Spain, they will grow much faster in France, going from opening two stores to more than 20.

Starbucks announced that it will open 200 drive-through stores in Mexico and its first Green Store in the country, in Altavista.
