Always going for expansion of natural gas liquefied infrastructure in the EU

Sempra Infraestructura, which emerged from the merger of IEnova y alwayswith a presence in Mexico and the United States, reached an agreement with Bechtel Energy, one of the largest construction companies in the world, for the construction of the Port Arthur natural gas liquefaction project in which, through a fixed-price engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, with a value of 10,500 million dollars, will install a capacity of 13.5 million tons per year in Jefferson County, Texas.

Under the EPC contract, Bechtel is expected to carry out detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, performance testing and operator training for Phase 1 of the project.

The Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 project has the corresponding permits and is expected to include two natural gas liquefaction trains and LNG storage tanks, as well as associated facilities with the capacity to produce, under optimal conditions, up to approximately 13.5 million annual tons of LNG.

The Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project of similar capacity is similarly competitive and is being actively commercialized and developed, according to Sempra Infraestructura.

Sempra Infrastructure announced earlier this year the preliminary completion of the commercialization of Phase 1 of the proposed Port Arthur LNG project with the execution of a series of non-binding agreements with Polish Oil & Gas Company, RWE Supply & Trading, INEOS Energy Trading, and ConocoPhillips.

The development of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Port Arthur LNG project is subject to the execution of the required commercial agreements, the obtaining of all necessary permits, the obtaining of financing and other aspects, including the authorization of a final decision of investment, among other factors.
