Made of 100 percent polyester, the lightweight, cool and flame retardant product has been popular among shoppers, with more than 200 near-perfect reviews.

The unisex pants, which can be worn over a pair of pants or shorts, are great for camping, hiking, fishing, and even gardening.

‘I’m an avid gardener with a lot of buggy areas to weed and this bug suit has saved the day. No mosquitos, no see ums or ticks got through,’ one woman wrote.

She said the pants are ‘very baggy’ but ‘you wouldn’t want it to sit close to your skin for both comfort and effectiveness’.

Another shopper gave the product a five-star rating after she was ‘pleasantly surprised with this purchase’.

‘It’s hot, but comfortable to wear in just shorts. And it’s tough material. I trimmed branched and hauled debris in it for six hours and not even a tear,’ she said.

One customer said while ‘no one will be winning any fashion contests’ with the pants, ‘it actually does the job’.

‘I got this for my brother who always gets bitten while doing yard work. He was kind of embarrassed at first but I convinced him he looked good,’ she said, laughing.

‘No actually, I convinced him it was worth it not to get bitten. It was kind of loose on him but I think that probably makes it more effective.’

The pants cost just $23.45, plus $11.74 for postage.
