America Movil will sell its cell towers in Peru and the Dominican Republic after spinning off that segment of its business in Latin America, a senior executive at the firm said Wednesday.
América Móvil, whose shares rose almost 3% after disclosing its corporate results for the third quarter of 2022 the day before, completed in August the spin-off of its cell tower division to create the Latin American Sites company.
“It still depends on the administration of the site and what they decide, but we believe that we are going to sell (the towers) in the Dominican Republic and also in Peru,” said the company’s financial director, Carlos García, during a call with analysts to discuss the quarterly figures.
America Movil, from Carlos Slimreported a net profit of about 893 million dollars on Tuesday, 13.7% more than between July and September 2021, with a year-on-year increase in revenue of 1.8 percent.
The titles of Sites Latin America subtracted 4.5 percent on Wednesday.
