The new agreement will enhance the synergies between the two international organizations when responding to health emergencies, especially with regard to technical standards, accountability and coordination, and through it the system of the International Federation will be harmonized with the global classification system of the World Health Organization for emergency medical teams, while recognizing the Federation’s emergency humanitarian response teams as medical teams This will help increase the participation of IFRC teams and National Red Cross and Red Crescent societies in the capacity building efforts led by the EMTs network.
