US media reported that a United Airlines plane landed safely in Denver, the capital of Colorado state, after experiencing engine problems on Saturday.
The USA Today website said that parts of a Boeing 777 plane crashed in several neighborhoods of Broomfield, Colorado, after experiencing technical problems, so the pilot decided to return to Denver, where the plane landed safely.
The plane was heading from Denver to Honolulu, Hawaii, with 231 passengers on board, according to a spokesman for Denver Airport.
Broomfield police announced that parts of the bird had fallen in several neighborhoods at one o’clock in the afternoon local time, and instructed local residents not to approach the scattered parts of the plane.
