Turkish authorities announced Sunday that an earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale hit the eastern state of Alazig.
“The earthquake occurred in the center of the state at a depth of 17 km, shortly after midday,” the Disaster and Emergency Management Department (AFAD) said.
There was no immediate word on whether there were losses due to the disaster.
It is noteworthy that a similar earthquake struck last week in the Kalecik region in Ankara, at a depth of 12 km.
The local authorities indicated that they had “not received” any reports of human or material losses.
