The US Geological Survey announced that an earthquake measuring 5.9 degrees on the Richter scale struck the coast of Japan’s Miyako Island, Okinawa Prefecture.
The authority indicated that “the epicenter of the quake was about 147 kilometers north of the city of Hirara.”
She added: “The epicenter of earthquakes occurred at a depth of 153 km,” while no information was received about the possible losses and destruction.
It earlier recorded a 4.7-magnitude tremor in the Pacific Ocean, 189 km from the eastern coast of Kamchatka, in the Russian Far East.
