Ana Obregón goes through difficult times again. The 66-year-old presenter and biologist has returned to the hospital after the death of her mother last May to accompany, this time, her father. Antonio García, 95, has been hospitalized in a clinic in Madrid for a few days. The real estate developer suffers from an infection from which he slowly recovers. After spending a few days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and starting to wear a pacemaker, the presenter’s father has already gone to the ward, according to the magazine Hi there!, accompanied by his daughters Ana, Amalia and Celia. All these events take place after the death of his son, Alejandro Lequio, at the age of 27 in May 2020.
The presenter, dejected, has dedicated a message to him through her Instagram account: “Dad, you are fighting positively in that hospital as ‘the champion’ that you have been all your life. A 95 year old champion. I am very selfish and I need to spend more time with you because I do not know to what extent the human being can endure so much pain if you left now ”.
“I understand that you want to meet with mom, but, please, I want to smile with you again … a little more,” Obregón concluded, in a text that he shared with his followers, who responded by flooding the networks with messages of force and encouragement, something that she herself has been grateful for. “Now you will understand my silence,” he added, “sometimes there are no words.”
Her only son was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 after he suffered a strange “back pull” in March of that same year. He then began treatment at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center hospital in New York, where he remained for seven months. Barcelona was the city chosen for the final phase of his severe illness, where he was treated by Dr. José Baselga, who had already treated him in the United States.
The loss of Álex Lequio led Ana Obregón to distance herself from the media attention just in the months when the coronavirus pandemic broke out. Only one year after the fateful outcome, the presenter received another blow when faced with the loss of her mother, Ana María Obregón Navarro, from whom she took her stage name. Deceased at 95, the biologist shared her departure once more on Instagram: “Now the two loves in my life are together forever. Mom, take good care of my child until I arrive, which I hope will be soon, and tell him that I love him more than anything ”.
Since then, the presenter continues to remind them and dedicate her most emotional words to them in a public way. There are numerous scenes that the interpreter has shared on her social networks: both from her childhood, and from the moments she lived with her friends and family.
