Italian press reports revealed that the police arrested the half-brother of former star Antonio Cassano, after he was accused of participating in a robbery, during which 30,000 euros were stolen, in the city of Bari.
The “Football Italy” website reported that the Italian police forces confirmed the arrest of Giovanni Cassano, the half-brother of former Roma and Real Madrid star Antonio Cassano, after he was accused of participating in the storming of an apartment in Sannicandro di Bari on June 10.
The report added that the stolen items were valued at about 30,000 euros from the apartment, including Rolex watches and jewelry. The report indicated that the police charged him with driving without a license and modifying the number plates on his car.
Police arrested Cassano’s brother
Antonio and Giovanni Cassano share the same father, who left Antonio’s mother when the player was still a child.
In another context, Cassano attacked Lazio’s top scorer Ciro Immobile, who he sees not performing at the same level with the Italian national team, after Italy drew with Switzerland with a negative result, in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Qatar.
Cassano had previously criticized Immobile strongly in previous times, and the former Roma, Real Madrid and Milan star returned to his scathing statements, saying: “Immobile scored 150 goals with Lazio, but I still say that he does not know how to play football.”
He added, “He plays with fear when the ball reaches him and gives it to others because he does not want it, and I feel that as a former football player.”
