Apple today announced AppleCare One, a new unified subscription plan that allows customers to protect multiple devices under a single monthly payment. Launching tomorrow in the United States, the service aims to simplify and reduce the cost of device protection.
The plan is priced at $19.99 per month and covers up to three Apple products. Customers can add more devices to their plan at any time for an additional $5.99 per month for each item. Apple estimates that a customer protecting an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch could save up to $11 per month compared to purchasing separate AppleCare+ plans.
AppleCare One incorporates all the standard benefits of AppleCare+, including unlimited repairs for accidental damage, 24/7 priority access to Apple support experts, certified service, and battery coverage. A significant enhancement is the extension of theft and loss protection, previously available only for iPhone, to now include iPad and Apple Watch. As with existing plans, service fees and deductibles will apply to claims.
In a key policy change, the new plan allows customers to enroll eligible devices they already own. Products up to four years old can be added, provided they pass a diagnostic check to verify their condition. This extends the previous 60-day window for purchasing coverage after a device purchase.
“Built on the trusted foundation of AppleCare+, AppleCare One extends that same reliability and makes it easier than ever to protect the products you love,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing.
The monthly subscription is designed for flexibility, allowing users to add or remove products as their needs change. When a customer trades in a covered device to Apple, the new product is automatically added to their AppleCare One plan, streamlining the upgrade process.
Starting July 24, customers in the U.S. can sign up for AppleCare One through their iPhone, iPad, or Mac, or by visiting an Apple Store.
