Argentina begins 2023 with increases in telecom services

The Argentine Government confirmed new increases from 2023 for pay television, telephone and internet services. Through the National Communications Entity (Enacom), it established increases with ceilings of up to 17.6% staggered between February and April. But, to the users of the two largest companies in the sector, the bills arrived with higher increases, reaching up to 30 percent only in January.

The rise in rates was authorized by Resolution 2393/2022, published on Thursday, December 29 in the Official Gazette. The measure establishes that licensees may apply a staggered increase of up to 17.6% in retail prices, taking as a reference the values ​​in force as of January 31, 2022.

But Movistar informed its users, through the invoices for the month of December, that “as of 1/2/2023, the prices of all Mobile Services, TV and Digital Services will increase up to 23.4%, Internet by day plus taxes For their part, users of Personal and Flow, Telecom’s brands, received increases of between 20% and 30%, depending on the service.

This is so because the company has, since April 2021, precautionary measures in its favor that were later extended to the rest of the companies in the sector.
