Argentina invites Biden to the CELAC summit

Argentina invited US President Joe Biden this Wednesday to the summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which will be held in Buenos Aires on January 24, reported diplomatic sources in Washington.

The Argentine ambassador to the United States, Jorge Argüello, hand-delivered the president’s formal invitation Alberto Fernandez the head of US diplomacy for Latin America and the Caribbean, Brian Nichols, reported the embassy.

If he accepts, Biden will attend a summit that will include the participation of the Brazilian president as a special guest Luiz Inacio Lula da Silvawhich shows signs of wanting to break the international isolation that Brazil experienced during the term of his predecessor, the far-right Jair Bolsonaro.
