The Argentine president, Alberto Fernandezunderwent an endoscopy this Saturday in Buenos Aires, after the erosive gastritis he suffered this week during the summit of the G-20 in Bali.
Fernández “endoscopic controls have been carried out to date, and no lesions with active bleeding have been found,” the Presidential Medical Unit said in a statement.
“Rest is indicated and a gradual resumption of work activities,” added the text signed by the doctor Federico Saavedra.
The president had suffered gastritis on Tuesday that forced him to be absent during part of the G20 leaders’ summit in which he was participating in Bali.
The president suffered an episode of hypotension and dizziness that, after being evaluated by the medical team, was diagnosed as “erosive gastritis with signs of bleeding.”
After recovering from the painting, Fernández met with the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, and with the director of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, before his return to Argentina.
