Saudi Ambassador’s official UK residence ‘is targeted by arsonists who set fire to front’ of multi-million pound building in Kensington as armed police arrest two men in struggle
The Saudi Ambassador’s official London residence was targeted by suspected arsonists today after a fire was set outside the multi-million pound building and two men were arrested after a struggle.
Armed police were seen handcuffing two men before taking them away in handcuffs after an earlier incident.
A witness told MailOnline one of the men had thrown an object over the high gate in front of the building on Kensington Palace Gardens, setting several bushes on fire.
A security guard then came out of the residence to confront the men and there was a ‘punch up’, which left one of the guards with an injured eye, the witness said.
The London Fire Brigade told MailOnline: ‘We were called to bushes alight at 1.41pm. It was under control by 1.50pm.
‘One fire engine attended and there were no reported injuries.’
