Army Registers False Bomb Threat in National Palace

Documents hacked by the Sedena Guacamaya group show that in July of this year, personnel working inside the National Palace were the victims of a false bomb threat, however, the lack of communication between the security areas of the compound was evidenced where President Andrés Manuel López Obrador lives and works.

Through a report, dated July 22, 2022, the staff of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) informed their superiors that shortly after 3:30 p.m. that day, different offices of the Palacio multipurpose building Nacional received an email which verbatim warned of a bomb threat.

“Their fucking mother, ranch dogs, will take them away at 4:30 in the afternoon, they will fly away in pieces with the bomb they put on them.

“I see them in hell just like the one I live in,” reads the message sent to at least 13 emails from workers at the National Palace.

According to the Sedena report, 10 minutes after receiving the message, one of the secretaries of the Office of the head of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit reported said email to the physical security personnel of the Treasury, and in turn the personnel who works in said offices, began the eviction towards the Nezahualcóyotl Garden.

However, in their brief, the military warned that the Treasury personnel took more than an hour to make the security service personnel of the National Palace aware of this situation.

In addition to the fact that the Treasury personnel themselves do not have the decision-making capacity to allow them to observe the video surveillance cameras, since when the military requested to see the cameras to detect possible evidence, they allowed said access two hours later, that is, until 7:00 p.m.

Request support an hour later

The report detailed that after learning of the threat (an hour after the mail arrived), the security chief of the National Palace requested the support of canophile binomials with a specialty in explosives, to inspect the multipurpose building, offices and parking lot and to Once, 140 soldiers who are housed in the area were evicted.

Due to the foregoing, the bomb threat security protocol was also applied and personnel of explosives specialists were transferred to the National Palace with four teams of canophile binomials, supported by electronic material, detectors and accessories, to inspect through electronic sweeps.

While specialist personnel began with the electronic, visual and canophile sweep in the Multipurpose building, the immediate reaction tactical team (ETRI) was also activated, establishing a security perimeter outside the National Palace.

Finally, two hours later “the security activities against the threat were concluded, without any indications, data and information on said warning having been detected.
