Russian media circulated video clips that showed part of the exercises in which the military pilots in the army recently trained to air-refuel their planes as part of precise maneuvers.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, pilots of the Central Military Region forces in the Russian army have recently conducted complex and difficult exercises to provide fighters and bombers with airborne fuel, at speeds of up to 700 km / h, and altitudes of up to 4,500 m.
During the exercises, the pilots carried out about 30 sorties, night and day, and in some of them, two fighters or bombers were refueling from the tanker at the same time, separated by a distance of 20 meters in the air only.
According to the ministry, the exercises took place in the Russian Ural Mountains region, and about 300 military personnel and about 20 aircraft participated, including MiG-31BM interceptors, Su-34 bombers, Su-24MR military reconnaissance aircraft and IL-78 fuel transport aircraft.
