More than twenty people have been injured this Sunday in Waukesha, a suburb 20 kilometers from Milwaukee (Wisconsin), after an off-road car hit a Christmas parade, as confirmed by the city police. The head of the department, Dan Thompson, said that the investigation is ongoing and that a “suspicious” vehicle has been recovered.
The multiple hit-and-run took place at 4.30 p.m. (5.30 p.m. local time in Washington DC). A video that began to circulate on social networks collected the images of the car breaking through the security barriers and accelerating towards the road where the parade was taking place. In another, cited by Reuters, the police can be seen firing towards the car after overcoming the containment fences.
After eight thirty at night (Washington DC time), the information was still scarce. The mayor of Waukesha, Shawn Reilly, said that “they could not give more details” of the “traumatic” night that the city lived.
