The British newspaper “Telegraph” reported, on Friday, that the International Olympic Committee is coordinating with the World Health Organization to obtain a vaccine against “Covid-19” for all athletes to save the Tokyo Olympics this year.
The games were postponed from the summer of 2020 last March, after the outbreak of the Corona virus, and are scheduled to start on July 23, 2021.
On Friday, the Japanese government denied a press report, quoting an unidentified source, as saying that the games will be canceled with most parts of Japan in a state of emergency due to the “Covid-19” infection.

Earlier, the CEO of the Tokyo Olympics Organizing Committee said that he hopes that the success of the vaccination campaigns against “Covid-19” will ensure that the largest sporting event in the world is held in safe conditions.
There are general concerns that the arrival of athletes to Tokyo will contribute to the spread of the virus.
Recent polls have shown that about 80 percent of Japanese do not want the Olympics to take place next summer.
