An Australian shopper was taken aback by an unusual discovery in her pre-made salad kit.
New South Wales mother Kayla bought a Caesar Salad Kit from her local Aldi store to save time cooking dinner.
But she got more than she bargained for when she opened the pack – a huge piece from the core of the lettuce.
‘Well this will teach me to go the lazy way with dinner,’ Kayla wrote in the Facebook community group, Aldi Mums.

Salad kits typically contain small ready-to-eat pieces of fresh cos lettuce, while the base is disposed of.
Photos of the chunk packed in Kayla’s salad kit show the piece is as big as her palm.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Aldi for comment.
Members of the Facebook group were similarly shocked by the discovery, with many encouraging Kayla to take the packet back to the store.

‘Wow I get these every week and have never had an issue!’ one mum said.
‘I’d return that. I stopped buying pre-packed ones because I feel like you get the dodgy parts all the time,’ said another.
A third added: ‘That one obviously got sorted to the wrong spot.’
Aldi encourages customers to return products if they are not 100 percent satisfied.
