Australian naturopath Georga Holt: This is what my fridge looks like and why I love The Beauty Chef

A leading naturopath has offered a glimpse inside her fridge – and shared the philosophy towards food that everyone should follow. 

Georga Holt, from Melbourne, is an expert in digestive health and has specialty knowledge in food intolerances, acne and hormonal breakouts, eczema and  hormonal issues.

The in-demand holistic professional has now opened up her fridge and shared her favourite meals, non-negotiable groceries, beauty routine and secret weapon for gut health. 

Georga, who has a ‘less is more’ approach to wellness, told The Beauty Chef her philosophy towards food is simple: let your body tell you what it wants/requires.

‘Don’t be influenced by social media as to what you should be eating to be the ‘healthiest’ version of yourself. Trust your body, it’s quite smart and will tell you what it needs,’ she said.

When it comes to cooking Georga said her go-to is a coconut red lentil soup while her grocery non-negotiables include a whole range of fruits, vegetables, proteins and fats to ensure her fridge is stocked to support her body all week.

When it comes to snacks she can’t go past fruit paired with nut butter or yoghurt. 

She will never eat oysters, however, as she’s never been a fan.

‘Even though I know how good they are for us, I just can’t bring myself to do it,’ she said.

‘I mix it up based on what amount of time I have but I love to shop at our local grocer, Psarakos, it has everything you need (and from good sources) – it’s a fruit and veg shop, baker, butcher, florist and nut store,’ she said.

‘My ritual is doing a Saturday morning shop. However, living in the city allows for a little stop on the way home from work for little things that will enhance our dinners. So realistically, I would say I would be at the grocers everyday (to satisfy any unplanned cravings).’

‘And I of course make sure I have protein in every meal to help stabilise my blood glucose levels and fuel my body.’

For immune support she also swears by plenty of exercise, wholefoods and sleep.

‘A naturopaths daily ritual for winter is adequate hydration. movement, nourishing meals, minimising stress, sleep and supplements,’ she said.

‘A diet full of wholefoods will support every aspect of your health, by reducing inflammation & setting the body up to succeed with the right.’
