Oklahoma Department of Corrections officials say an inmate confessed to killing his cellmate.
Authorities are investigating an inmate homicide at the Lawton Correctional Facility, Oklahoma Department of Corrections officials announced Monday.According to a news release, staff at the facility discovered an inmate homicide early Monday morning. Inmate Aaron Stone confessed to killing his cellmate, Riley Walker, the news release said.Staff immediately responded, secured Stone and confirmed Walker’s death, officials said.Oklahoma Department of Corrections Inspector General’s investigators are at the facility investigating. The news release says the homicide does not appear to be related to last week’s incidents that caused a statewide prison lockdown.Stone is serving time for rape, sodomy, robbery, kidnapping and cruelty to animals out of Comanche County, according to the ODOC. Walker was in prison for a first-degree murder conviction out of Pontotoc County.
