Axios quoted two Israeli officials as saying that Israel informed the United States that it had prepared a plan to introduce fuel into the southern Strip Gaza Under international monitoring in case it runs out more Sector hospitals.
This comes amid reports of continuing American efforts to urge Israel to declare a temporary humanitarian truce to bring aid into Gaza, which Washington believes will ease the pressures of world public opinion that have increased due to the massacres committed in the Strip.
According to what Axios reported on Saturday, Israeli officials cooperated with international relief organizations to calculate the quantities of fuel needed to operate hospitals and other vital facilities for a “short and limited period.”
According to the plan submitted to the United States – which requires final approval from the Israeli War Council – fuel tankers will enter from Egypt to the Gaza Strip carrying specific quantities of fuel.
According to the plan, Israel requires that each fuel tanker move accompanied by a United Nations team to monitor it closely.
When these quantities run out, the process may be repeated again for another short and limited period, according to Israeli officials.
The Israeli army continues its war on Gaza – for the fifth week in a row – as it launches intense raids on residential neighborhoods, leaving nearly 9,500 martyrs, most of them women and children, according to official data.
For weeks, international organizations have called for fuel to be brought into the Gaza Strip, warning of a humanitarian catastrophe as a result of hospitals being out of service, in light of a complete siege by the occupation that cut off supplies of water, food, electricity, and fuel.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza accused the Israeli occupation forces of intentionally targeting more than 105 health institutions, which led to 16 hospitals being out of service and 32 primary care centers due to bombing and running out of fuel.
