Ayllón and Azuela will give voice to INAI in the Committee

The National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (Inai) appointed María Esther Azuela Gómez and Sergio López Ayllón as members of the Technical Evaluation Committee of the aspiring directors of the National Electoral Institute (INE).

This designation was unanimously determined in the Inai plenary session and both candidates were chosen from among 10 different profiles of recognized prestige and whose academic and/or professional career is focused on strengthening democracy, with the study of transparency and elections or with electoral law. María Esther Azuela Gómez is a political scientist and journalist.

She has served as an official of the Federal Electoral Institute as director of Electoral Training and Civic Education between 1997 and 1999.

She was also deputy director of Personnel Training and Development at the Ministry of Communications and Transportation.

For his part, Segio López Ayllón has a degree and doctorate in Law from UNAM.

He is a research professor in the Legal Studies Division of the Center for Economic Research and Teaching.

He was also director of the Legal Studies Division and research professor of the Public Administration Division of the same institution.

Currently, he is a member of the National System of Researchers, Level III; from the Mexican Academy of Sciences and the International Academy of Comparative Law.
