A baby wrapped in a plastic bag has been seen floating in shallow water in Sydney’s south east.
Police were called to Yarra Bay in La Perouse about 5pm on Sunday after several witnesses noticed the object.
Police Marine Area Command, Polair, NSW Ambulance and several rescue helicopters scoured the area.

The search was suspended at 7.45pm due to poor visibility and no further sightings.
Eastern Beaches Chief Inspector Tracy Ford said a family walking along the beach sounded the alarm.
‘A co-ordinated land search was undertaken until light failed for the day,’ she said.
The search is due to recommence at 7am on Monday.
