There are already many missteps that Ticketmaster has had in countless events to ignore that something stinks in the company that dominates the entertainment market in Mexico.

First of all, the obligatory question: Why don’t late-night fans get tickets and scalpers always do?

There are anecdotes of fans who in groups try to get a ticket at the beginning of the sale without positive results, desperate they see that thousands of tickets are sold in minutes. The genius of the tickets always favors the ticket mafias.

Given the misfortune of the defrauded and due to pressure from Ricardo Sheffield Padilla, head of PROFECO, the Ticketmaster company will reimburse people who, having authentic tickets, could not access the show. Not to mention the additional expenses that his attendance implied, plane tickets and lodging among others.

Beyond the conjectures about the reseller mafia in which the Ticketmaster company or some members of its staff with the acquiescence of the managers would also be involved, the question arises: Why aren’t fundamental solutions to this old evil being sought?

In Mexico, they like to legislate everything and for everything, because they have not come up with a law that regulates the sale and resale of tickets.

The government must force Ticketmaster, a listed company to modernize its platform, it could resume the FIFA ticket sales system in the World Cup in Qatar, which, through an electronic ticket linked to the buyer’s passport, activates a code QR two hours before the start of the show, avoiding duplication of tickets and their resale.

The ticket is transferable only by its holder and fully traceable. In the same way, the FIFA platform allows the resale of the ticket at standardized costs.

Dear reader, there are many solutions, apparently neither the government nor the Ticketmaster company want to eliminate resale in Mexico, for now the pagans of these bad practices as always, we are the consumers. Until next time.
