The Bahraini Finance Ministry said in a statement today, Monday, that preliminary financial data indicated that the total deficit in the 2020 budget reached 1.624 billion dinars ($ 4.31 billion).
The ministry indicated that the budget deficit amounts to an increase of 817 million dinars (2.17 billion dollars) over the approved budget.
It stated that preliminary data also indicated that revenues amounted to 2.139 billion dinars (5.67 billion dollars), a decrease of 27 percent from the approved budget due to the decline in oil prices.
Preliminary data show that public expenditures in 2020 amounted to 3.763 billion Bahraini dinars ($ 9.98 billion), a 0.3 percent increase over the approved budget.
