The famous Insurgentes bakery, in Mexico City, La Espiga will close its doors in a few days, on December 16after more than 70 years to open its doors and revolutionize the sales model.

The place is characteristic for its sweet bread, bolillo, telera, baguettes and rosca de reyes, there are even long lines to buy them.
Foundation

Ordoñez was also one of the founders of the Chamber of Bakers of Mexico (Canainpa), at that time the entrepreneur was 26 years old. He also created the Training Center for the Mexican bakery that bears his name.
The Mexican died at 100 years and until he was 99 years old he kept going to his bakery. According to the pandemic, he always asked to “keep going and with more energy.”
