Banobras receives 7,500 million pesos in sustainable bonds

The National Bank of Public Works and Services (Banobras) raised 7,500 million pesos with the placement of three bonds, of which two have the sustainable seal with a gender approach, via the Institutional Stock Exchange (Biva), an amount that was in line with what was prospected in its public offering notice.

Banobras highlighted that the offer was well received, since 26 institutional investors participated and registered a demand of 1.9 times the amount placed.

“The resources are allocated to projects that have an impact on improving the quality of life of women, girls and adolescents,” said Jorge Mendoza, general director of Banobras.

Among the contemplated projects are those of mobility to offer women efficient, safe transport that allows them to move to their destination in less time than usual.

It is contemplated to finance projects of the educational sector dedicated to the construction of spaces for the development of girls and adolescents. Also to initiatives that provide access to maternal and child health services.

In addition, financing will be granted for the creation of public spaces for women, girls and adolescents to carry out sports, coexistence and recreation activities, among others.

The development bank explained that two series were issued at variable rates, which were in line with auction expectations. One of them, identified with the BANOB ticket 22-4, was placed for 3,061.9 million pesos, with a term of 2.3 years and a variable rate of Funding TIIE + 22 basis points.

The second series, with code BANOB 22X, was issued under a sustainable approach with a gender perspective and obtained 1,966.1 million pesos, with a term of four (4) years and a variable rate of TIIE Funding + 26 basis points.

With the third tranche, which also had a gender focus, Banobras raised 2,472 million pesos, maturing in seven years. It will pay a fixed rate of 10.26%, equivalent to a differential of 35 basis points on the MBono maturing in 2029.
