The Spanish club Barcelona decided to open the door to negotiations with the young star Pedri Gonzalez to renew his contract, which expires in June 2022. Barcelona is looking to secure the future of the 18-year-old talent Pedri, as the club sees it as the future of the midfield for the Catalan team.
According to the Catalan newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona contacted Pedri’s father and his agent in order to resolve the renewal file for the young Barca star.
The newspaper added that Barcelona has the right to activate the renewal clause unilaterally with Pedri for a period of two seasons, by paying a certain amount of money, but at the same time the player refuses to receive any money from the Catalan team.
And she indicated that Barcelona officials offered Pedri’s father and his agent a renewal for 3 seasons, until his contract expired in June 2025.
She explained that the young star welcomes the renewal with Barcelona, while providing all possible facilities to end this file, because of his desire to stay with Barca.
Pedri had signed a contract to move to FC Barcelona for 5 million euros, coming from Las Palmas, but that with the variables has already increased to 15 million, and this could reach 30-35 million euros, in favor of Las Palmas, which also has gains Capitalization of 15% of future sale.
