Barcelona are still looking to sign Malaga talent Antonio Cordero, although his first offer was rejected by his club.
Marca newspaper indicated that the player caught Barcelona’s attention this summer, and they submitted an offer of up to 4 million euros, in addition to variables, to sign him.
The 17-year-old is under contract with Malaga until the summer of 2025 and has a release clause of €3m.
Cordero has long emerged as one of the hottest young talents in Spanish football, with the winger establishing himself as a pivotal figure in Malaga’s return to the second division.
Antonio Cordero, known to everyone as ‘Antonito’, made his debut for Malaga’s first team last season.

Despite his young age, Cordero made 22 appearances for Malaga last season, playing a key role in the team’s promotion to the second division.
He scored the decisive goal against Nastic that secured Malaga’s promotion to the play-offs, and has continued to shine this season.
In his first two appearances in the second division, the striker scored a goal in a draw against Racing Ferrol (2-2), and provided an assist against Mirandes in another draw (1-1), all in just 34 minutes of play.
