Barcelona revealed in an official statement today, Wednesday, the nature of the injury suffered by its Brazilian star, Philippe Coutinho, during the match against Eibar in the 16th round of the Spanish League, on Tuesday.
A statement by the Catalan club said: “Medical examinations confirm Coutinho’s injury to the outer cartilage of the left knee. He will undergo an operation in the next few days.”

Coutinho, who entered the pitch in the 66th minute instead of Bosnian Miralem Pjanic, was unable to complete the match due to an injury he sustained in stoppage time from the match, which ended in a 1-1 positive draw.
It is noteworthy that Coutinho participated this season with Barcelona in 14 cases in various competitions, during which he scored three goals and made two assists.
